How do home and auto bundles actually save money?
Bundling home and auto saves money only when both policies fit the same carrier's underwriting box — and they don't always. As an independent agency, we shop your home and auto across our 40+ direct carrier appointments, then run the math both ways: bundled with one carrier versus split between two. Sometimes the bundle wins by hundreds of dollars a year; sometimes splitting wins. We show you the real numbers either way instead of assuming the bundle is automatically cheaper. You end up with whichever combination actually costs least for your specific home, vehicles, and claims history.
What does working with Clear View cost?
Nothing beyond your premium. Independent agencies like Clear View are compensated by the insurance carrier, not by you, so our shopping, advice, and ongoing service don't add a separate fee. You pay the same premium you'd pay approaching the carrier directly — except we shop 40+ carriers on your behalf instead of selling one company's products. If you ever want to understand how that works, we'll disclose our commission on request and walk you through it. The value is simple: independent advice and a real person on your account, at no additional cost to you.
Do you insure lake homes and boats in Oklahoma?
Yes — lake property is one of our specialties. We write dwellings, docks, boathouses, and the boats themselves around Oklahoma's lakes, including Tenkiller, Eufaula, Texoma, and Skiatook. Lake homes carry exposures a standard homeowners policy can miss: detached dock structures, seasonal occupancy, wind and water, and watercraft liability. We shop carriers that actually want this risk and structure the dwelling, the dock, the contents, and on-water boat liability so they fit together. Bass boats, pontoons, and wakeboard rigs can be scheduled too. Tell us the lake and the setup and we'll quote it properly rather than forcing it into a city homeowners form.
Can you cover my Airbnb or short-term rental?
Yes — with the right form. A short-term rental is a business use, and a standard homeowners or landlord policy often won't respond to an STR claim. We write proper short-term-rental coverage for Broken Bow cabins, Oklahoma lake properties, and Oklahoma City-metro stays, including the liability and contents exposures that come with paying guests. We've seen owners assume their existing policy covers Airbnb income and learn otherwise at claim time. We place the actual STR form instead of crossing our fingers on a landlord policy. Tell us how often you rent and how the property is used, and we'll match the coverage to it.
Business
Do you write businesses outside Oklahoma?
We're licensed in Oklahoma and a handful of bordering states, so most of our book is Oklahoma operations. That said, if your business touches Texas, Kansas, Arkansas, or Missouri — multi-state fleets, job sites across the line, or property in a neighboring state — we can usually help. Commercial accounts frequently cross state lines, and we handle the additional-insured and certificate requirements that come with that. If you operate well beyond the region, tell us where; we'll be straight about whether we're the right fit or whether you'd be better served by a local agency in that market.
Why do I have to give you my current declarations page?
Because the worst thing we can do is sell you the wrong coverage. Your current declarations page shows exactly what you have today — limits, deductibles, endorsements, and how the carrier classified your risk. With it, we can find gaps, spot duplicate coverage, and quote apples-to-apples instead of guessing. Without it, we're rebuilding your program from memory, which wastes your time and risks a quote that looks cheaper only because it quietly covers less. Sending the dec page up front saves money and prevents surprises at renewal or claim time. You can usually request it from your current agent or carrier in a few minutes.
How fast can you turn a certificate of insurance (COI)?
Usually same day. For our commercial clients we keep certificate requests moving, with holder lists pre-loaded so a bid-day or job-start request doesn't turn into a Monday-morning fire drill. We issue the certificate with the additional-insured and primary-and-non-contributory wording your contract actually requires, not a generic version that gets kicked back. If your general contractor or project owner needs specific endorsement language, send us the contract and we'll match it. Certificates renew in sync with your policies, so there's no lapse on file with the people who need proof that you're covered.
What size businesses does Clear View handle?
All sizes, with a sweet spot in the middle of the Oklahoma market. We write everyone from single-truck operators and first-time commercial buyers up to companies with roughly $1 million in premium and complex, multi-location risk. Our commercial team — led by Erick Cummings, Director of Commercial Lines, with Jim Jennings on carrier marketing — builds the program around your actual operations rather than forcing you into a one-size package. Whether you need a simple general-liability policy or a layered program with property, commercial auto, workers' comp, and umbrella, we shop it across our 40+ carrier appointments and place it where it fits.
Industries
Do you really understand oil and gas insurance?
Yes — it's a core specialty, written by people who know the patch. We cover roustabout and lease maintenance, midstream, well servicing and workover, flowback and water transfer, equipment rentals, and operators. Just as important, we handle the paperwork that runs the job: we read the operator's master service agreement before you sign, check whether the indemnification is drag-down to their limits, and make sure your policy delivers primary-and-non-contributory wording, waivers of subrogation, and the right additional-insured forms. We know the difference between water-transfer, flowback, and lease-work crews — and so do your workers' comp class codes. Send us the MSA and we'll tell you what it actually requires.
Can you place bid and performance bonds quickly?
Usually fast. We place bid, performance, payment, and maintenance bonds for Oklahoma contractors — from a first $50K public project up to aggregate programs supporting several million dollars in backlog. Surety hinges on your financials and track record, so the more complete your information, the faster the turnaround. We also read the bond form and the contract's drag-down and indemnity provisions before you sign — the language that can quietly expand your obligations. Single-job or aggregate, tell us the project and the obligee and we'll work it through our surety markets and get the bond out the door.
Group Benefits
How early should we start our group renewal?
Earlier than most agencies tell you — about 120 days out. Starting four months ahead gives us room to market your plan to multiple carriers, model plan-design and contribution changes, and bring you real options without a deadline forcing a rushed decision. Group renewals involve census updates, current-plan data, and sometimes underwriting, and rushing any of those narrows your choices. Felicia Garrett, our Director of Health & Benefits, runs that timeline with you. If your renewal is sooner than 120 days out, call us anyway at 405.703.2834 — we'll work with whatever runway is left and still market it properly.
Who leads group benefits at Clear View?
Felicia Garrett, our Director of Health & Benefits, leads the practice — and she oversees both Group and Individual benefits, which are genuinely different problems handled by the same fluent team. On the group side, that means employer-sponsored health, dental, vision, life, and disability, plus ACA-compliance support and decision-maker tools that translate carrier-speak into trade-offs you can actually act on. We're carrier-agnostic, so we're not steering you toward one company's plan. If you're an Oklahoma employer weighing a renewal or setting up benefits for the first time, Felicia's team is who you'll work with from quote through enrollment.
Individual Benefits
Can I switch Medicare plans mid-year?
Usually only during a defined window. For most people, Medicare plan changes happen during the Annual Election Period, October 15 to December 7, with changes effective January 1. Outside that, you generally need a Special Enrollment Period triggered by a qualifying event — moving, losing other coverage, or certain plan changes — and there's also the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period early in the year for existing Advantage members. The rules are specific and guessing wrong can cost you, so call us at 405.703.2834 and we'll tell you exactly which window applies to your situation before you make a move.
What individual coverage can you shop for me?
More than just health insurance. On the individual side we shop individual and family health plans, Medicare Supplement and Medicare Advantage, term life, whole life, and indexed universal life, plus long-term care and disability income. The idea is to look at the whole picture honestly — what you actually need, what you don't, and how the pieces fit your budget — rather than selling a single product. Angela Jennings leads Individual Benefits with oversight from Felicia Garrett. We explain the trade-offs in plain English and shop multiple carriers, so the recommendation is built around your situation instead of one company's lineup.
Claims
Who do I call when something happens?
Call Clear View first — 405.703.2834. When something happens, you reach us, not an anonymous 1-800 queue. We initiate the claim with your carrier, make sure it's filed correctly, and stay on it through the process so you're not chasing an adjuster alone. Because we're independent, we advocate for you with the carrier rather than for the carrier. Have your policy number handy if you can, but call even if you don't — we'll pull it up. Whether it's a home, auto, commercial, or benefits claim, the first call is the same number and the same team that set your coverage up.
About Clear View
Is Clear View really family-owned?
Yes — genuinely, not as a marketing line. Holly Cummings owns and runs Clear View, which she founded in 2018. Her father, Jim Jennings, brings four decades in the industry and runs commercial carrier marketing; her mother, Cindy Buss, is part of the team; and Holly's husband, Erick Cummings, is Director of Commercial Lines and co-owns the agency. Several of the next generation work here too. Walk through the Moore office and you'll actually meet them. That family structure is also why the culture and the hiring bar are what they are — people tend to stay, so your account isn't constantly passed to someone new.
Do you actually speak Spanish?
Sí. We have bilingual licensed agents on staff — real licensed producers who speak Spanish, not a translation hotline you get routed to. That means you can get a home, auto, or business quote, ask coverage questions, and handle a claim in Spanish with someone who understands both the language and the policy. Bilingual service runs across our personal lines team, and it's part of how we serve the Oklahoma City metro community. Pregunte por uno de nuestros agentes bilingües cuando llame al 405.703.2834 y con gusto le ayudamos en español, de principio a fin.
How is an independent agency different from a captive agent?
A captive agent sells one company's products; we don't. Clear View is an independent agency with 40+ direct carrier appointments, so we shop your risk across many carriers and place it where the coverage and price actually fit — and we re-shop at renewal if the market moves. We're paid by the carrier, not by you, so independent advice costs you nothing extra. Practically, that means when one carrier raises rates or won't write a particular risk, we have somewhere else to go instead of telling you to take it or leave it. One agency, many carriers, firmly on your side of the table.
